What we pour

Most weeks that is house slabs for builders. The rest is driveways, shed slabs and outdoor concrete for people who want it done once.

  • House slabs

Waffle pod, raft and Hebel slabs prepared and poured to the engineer's drawings.

    Details
  • Footings and piers

Bored piers, strip footings and pad footings excavated, inspected and poured as a package with the slab or on their own.

    Details
  • Driveways

Plain, coloured or exposed aggregate driveways with the fall and crossover done properly, so water goes where it should and the finish still looks right in ten years.

    Details
  • Shed and garage slabs

A shed slab is a structural slab, so it gets the same treatment as a house slab: compacted base, vapour barrier, correct mesh, thickened edges where the frame lands and hold-down bolts set to the shed supplier's drawings.

    Details
  • Patios, paths and alfresco areas

Outdoor slabs that tie into the house properly, with falls away from the building, control joints in the right places and a finish you can walk on barefoot.

    Details
  • Commercial and industrial

Warehouse and workshop floors, hardstands, loading areas and footings for commercial builds.

Prep is the job

Watch the pour sweep across the driveway. Everything that makes a slab last is decided before a truck arrives: compaction, steel cover, formwork, falls and joint layout. The pour is the easy part when the prep is right.

This one is a steep block for Leonard Homes. Challenging slope, solid preparation, and a finish that drains the way it should.

How a job runs

The same four steps whether it is a 300 m² house slab or a driveway. You always know what happens next.

  1. Quote

Send plans, photos or a rough size. You get a fixed price with pump, steel and inspections spelled out, not a per-metre guess.

  2. Prep

Set-out, excavation, piers, formwork, pods, steel and termite system. Everything the certifier needs to see is ready before they arrive.

  3. Inspect

Pier and pre-pour inspections booked by us. If the engineer wants a change, it happens before the trucks are ordered.

  4. Pour and finish

Pumped, placed, levelled and finished on the day. Site cleaned, paperwork sent with the invoice.

Run by Reece Montague

Reece started OnlyCrete after more than a decade pouring slabs for builders across South East Queensland. He quotes every job, sets out every slab and is on site for every pour.

That matters because concrete does not give you a second go. The level, the steel cover, the joint layout and the finish are decided in the hours before and during the pour, and Reece is the one making those calls, not a subcontracted crew you have never met.

  • QBCC licensed concreter (licence 15593005), fully insured
  • 10+ years on house slabs, footings and driveways
  • OnlyCrete Concreting Pty Ltd, ABN 39 695 355 830, GST registered
  • Based on the northern Gold Coast, working Pimpama to Ipswich

Questions people ask before they book

Straight answers. If yours is not here, call and ask.

How much does a concrete slab cost on the Gold Coast?

It depends on the slab class from the soil report, the size, how much steel and how many piers the engineer calls for, pump requirements and site access. A house slab is quoted off the engineering drawings; a driveway or shed slab off a site visit or measurements and photos. Send the plans and we will come back with a fixed price, not a square-metre guess.

Do you pour waffle pod slabs?

Yes. Waffle pod and raft slabs are most of what we do, poured for volume builders across the Gold Coast, Logan, Brisbane and Ipswich. We also pour Hebel and other lightweight slab systems when the engineering calls for them.

Who organises the slab and pier inspections?

We do. Pier inspections and pre-pour slab inspections are booked with your certifier or engineer as part of the job, and the pour only happens once they are signed off.

Can you install the termite protection with the slab?

Yes. Termite perimeter and penetration systems are installed during the slab build and included in the quote, so you have one trade to deal with and the certificate is in your hand at handover.

How long before I can drive on a new driveway?

Keep cars off for at least seven days. Concrete reaches its design strength at 28 days, so keep heavy vehicles and skip bins off until then. We will tell you the exact timing for your pour on the day.

Are you licensed and insured?

Reece Montague holds QBCC concreting licence 15593005 and OnlyCrete Concreting Pty Ltd carries public liability insurance. Reece has more than ten years on the tools, most of it on house slabs for builders, so the paperwork and the pour both get done properly.

Do you work with owner-builders?

Yes. We quote off your engineer's drawings exactly as we would for a builder, organise the inspections and walk you through what has to happen on site before and after the pour.

What areas do you cover?

The Gold Coast and northern Gold Coast growth corridor, Logan and the Yarrabilba and Flagstone estates, Brisbane south and Ipswich out to Ripley and Springfield. Further afield is fine for the right job; just ask.
